Cedar Park Welcomes Red River

January 1, 2008 - Cedar Park -

Effective January 1, 2008, RR Waste Solutions will begin providing residential solid waste collection and recycling services to the residences within Cedar Park.

RR Waste will begin delivering new dark green refuse carts and recycling bins on December 8th. Please begin using the new receptacles beginning with your first collection day in January. A brochure detailing recycling and collection guidelines will be delivered with your new cart. Please note that the current collector (IESI) will not remove any items placed in the new dark green containers. After your last collection day in December, please leave your IESI cart curbside and empty so that it may be collected. If your are a residential solid waste customer and your service is provided through the City of Cedar Park and have not received your new containers by December 28th, please call the Cedar Park Utility Billing office at (512) 401-5300.

As December 25th is a holiday there will be no solid waste collection that day. Please observe the sliding schedule that week. If your normal collection day is Tuesday, your solid waste will be collected on Wednesday. The remaining collection schedule for the week will also slide one day.

January 1st will be another solid waste collection holiday which will also entail a sliding schedule for that week. RR Waste will begin collecting on January 2nd.

As with the previous collection provider, on your scheduled collection day, please place your refuse curbside by 7:00 a.m. no more than 5 feet from the curb with the handle facing the home. Brush will be collected along with regular collection as long as it is tied in bundles no more than 4 feet in length and 4 inches in diameter and does not exceed 50 pounds per bundle.

RR Waste Solutions will collect the contents of the cart along with 7 additional bags, bulky items, bundles of brush or combination thereof.

Items that cannot be collected are: tires, dirt, rock, concrete, batteries, roofing shingles, cross ties, construction debris, ammunitions, explosives, compressed gases, propane tanks or household hazardous waste.

We are excited that corrugated cardboard has been added to the list of materials acceptable for recycling, along with plastic bottles (lids removed), all empty steel and tin cans, clean dry paper including newspapers, inserts, magazines, phone books, mail and other office paper, boxboard including shoe boxes and cereal boxes with liners removed.

The collection schedule for the majority of the residences will remain the same. Due to an abnormally large Friday collection schedule and in an effort to provide more efficient service to our residents, customers within the Gann Ranch and Heritage Park subdivisions will have their collection day changed from Friday to Thursday.
