RR Waste Solutions Brings Change & Improved Service As Del Rio's New Waste Collection ProviderDecember 17, 2008 - Del Rio, TX -"We are delighted to have this opportunity and we are looking forward to providing a state of the art collection service to the residents of Del Rio," commented President James Arrington Smith. "We will be implementing a mixture of semi and fully automated collection services to handle the 95 gallon residential containers." The collection service to be provided to the residents of Del Rio will completely differ from the level of service experienced over the last 40 years. This new collection method will give the residents added service and convenience which will improve the cleanliness of the Del Rio community all factors considered. Upon notification of award, RR Waste immediately began its phase-in operations with the goal of being completely ready by February 1st. Director of Business Development, David Cooper commented, "With only 53 days from Council approval on December 9th to contract start on February 1st, RR Waste is asking the residents for a little patience and understanding. We have total corporate office attention on this contract and, with the dedicated effort from some very talented people, RR Waste will become a model corporate citizen for this community." Under this contract, RRWS will service almost 11,000 residential customers and an estimated 1,200 commercial customers throughout the City. Industrial customers (Roll Off containers) will be provided service utilizing 20, 30 and 40 cubic yard containers on a call-in or requested service. RR Waste is ordering equipment, establishing local vendor accounts, auditing commercial accounts and hiring its local staff. "We ask the commercial businesses to cooperate with our commercial service survey that is taking place now through December 31st, because it is very important in determining the needs of each business so that billing and service is not interrupted after February 1st," Cooper said. "The City of Del Rio will provide all billing and collection services for all residential, landfill and commercial accounts," Cooper said, "Industrial accounts will be billed and collected by RR Waste." Industrial account customers are encouraged to call in January to set up these industrial (roll off) accounts. RR Waste survey crews will attempt to meet with each business face to face, by phone, email or regular mail to determine service needs. However, all commercial customers are strongly encouraged to visit our website at http://www.rrwastesolutions.com/contact/commercial-request-delrio.php and complete a simple form to establish service. The information must be received by December 31st, with a grace period through January 5th in order to guarantee service the first week of February. Del Rio's residents will provided one 95 gallon container that will be collected once per week. All residential solid waste must be bagged and placed into the 95 gallon container for collection. Waste not correctly placed into the provided container will not be collected unless special arrangements and fees are made and paid in advance of collection. Waste placed in container(s) other than the US Waste provided-container will not be collected. "It is important to understand that only contents of the RR Waste-provided container(s) will be collected," Cooper cautioned. In addition to the weekly service, residents will receive monthly collection of up to two bulky waste items (i.e., furniture, appliances, etc.) and five cubic yards of yard rubbish that is neatly stacked, tied and bundled. As a point of reference, five cubic yards is roughly the size of a Volkswagen bug. As an added convenience, additional carts are available for higher volume customers for an additional fee. After the initial cart delivery, please contact the City to request an additional container. Del Rio residents who have current water accounts with the City will receive their 95 gallon containers sometime |
