Welcome, Del Rio, to our family of satisfied customers! Effective February 1, 2009, Red River will be the exclusive waste collection service provider for all residential, commercial and roll off collection services in the City of Del Rio and for the five mile extra territorial jurisdiction (ETJ). Note: Customers who reside in the ETJ and who do not receive City Service (Water/Sewer) are FREE TO CHOOSE THEIR WASTE PROVIDER.

While we envision a smooth transition for all customers, we are prepared for the challenges that could come from changing vendors and implementing a new method in which waste is collected. Please be patient and understanding during this transition.

Residential Waste Collection

Beginning on January 17th cart delivery will commence and each residential customer who has an active water account will receive one 95-gallon roll cart. Do not use carts until February 1^st, as Moore Service will not collect waste from these containers. Please note: serial numbers on carts will be sequenced with water accounts and addresses. After the initial delivery, customers who would like additional carts will have to go to City Hall and complete a request form to receive additional carts.

Important information to keep in mind to avoid residential service interruptions:

• Residential garbage collection will be provided once per week, Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 8:00 pm.
• Roll Carts must be placed curbside by 6:00 am. NO ALLEY COLLECTION!!
• All garbage must be in bags and properly placed into the 95 gallon roll cart.
• Garbage placed in swing cans, outside or next to the cart will not be collected.
• Roll carts must have unobstructed access and be placed no closer than two feet from the curb/street with handle facing the house.

Residential Yard Rubbish/Bulk Waste Collection
Yard Rubbish/Bulk Waste collection will be provided to all residential customers who have an active water account. RRWS will maintain the current yard rubbish collection schedule that is in place.

• Yard Rubbish and Bulky Waste will be collected once per month.
• Each account is allowed 5 cubic yards of Yard Rubbish per month.
• Each account is allowed 2 bulky items per month.
• All yard rubbish must be cut into 4 feet lengths and cannot exceed 4 inches in diameter.
• Yard rubbish must be bundled, tied and placed next to roll cart. Bundles must not exceed 50lbs.

Commercial Waste Collection

On February 1^st billing and collection for basic commercial dumpster services will be provided by the City of Del Rio. During the week of December 15^th RRWS performed a City wide audit of all dumpsters located within the City limits of Del Rio. Note: Moore Service will not be allowed to provide or service commercial dumpsters or commercial roll off containers who receive City Service (Water/Sewer) after February 1^st.

During this audit we matched container sizes with active commercial water account customers from a list provided by the City. This survey will serve as our initial commercial customer account list to begin receiving service February 1^st.

Commercial customers who reside in the 5 mile ETJ who do not receive City Service (Water/Sewer) are free to choose their provider. To inquire about our commercial waste collection service in the ETJ we encouraged you to go to our website and make an online request.

We ask all commercial customers to fill out our online commercial account sign up form to ensure we have the required information. This is the best way to avoid any interruptions in service. The City and RRWS are requesting this information because Moore Service, who currently bills and maintains the commercial customer list, was unwilling to share this information during the contract transition.

Our commercial dumpster service will include the following:

• Commercial businesses are provided garbage collection services using metal dumpsters.
• New Metal dumpsters are available in 2, 3 and 4 cubic yard capacities.
• Collection frequencies are available from once per week to six times per week.
• Locking devices and casters are available for an additional monthly charge.
• Commercial businesses are responsible for the accessibility, care and cleaning of their dumpster.

Landfill Operation and Management

In addition to the collection services provided above RRWS will also manage and operate the City's landfill located at 1897 Railway Road. The landfill will be open Monday thru Friday from 6:00 am to 4:45 pm and on Saturday from 6:00 am to 1:45 pm.

Residents of the City of Del Rio can use the landfill free of charge to deposit household trash and yard rubbish only. Customers must provide a City of Del Rio current water bill and valid photo I.D. to show proof of residency. All commercial customers will be charged for landfill use, regardless of residency. (Note: Delinquent water accounts must be brought current prior to depositing items in landfill.)
